Destiny 2 will get a few Fortnite-inspired skins, while Fortnite will get its very own set of skins for the game. This is the first time that separate companies are doing a crossover collaboration for each other. Both parties get some in-game content! Bungie also revealed that a crossover with Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is also in the works, as they showed off little jelly beans dressed up as Fortnite characters in the battle royale.
Destiny 2 X Fortnite Crossover Skins and Details
As for Destiny, three Fortnite-inspired skins are coming to the game. The skins will be available in the real-money Eververse store. There will be one skin for each class. Titans will be able to get their hands on the Black Knight, while Warlocks will get an armour set based on Drift. And for the Hunters, they’ll get an Oblivion Armor set. These skins are coming sooner than expected as they’ll be available in the store on Tuesday as the Season of Plunder starts. Now, Fortnite is getting its own set of skins inspired by Destiny. Players will be able to pick up skins based upon Commander Zavala, Ikora and the Exo Stranger. We’ll also get our hands on some Back Bling inspired by Destiny 2, along with Destiny-themed gliders and pick axes. A creator map is also in the works, which will be based upon the Crucible map Javelin-4. So, fans can equip their Destiny skins and battle them out on the iconic Destiny map. The island is not just a remake, its much more. The map features a new Control mode which is something Guardians are familiar with. You set out to challenge your team to hold control points. The more points you control, the higher the score multiplier goes offering more points when you get a kill on the opposing team. Capturing a control point gives you added points as well, and the first team to reach a score of 200 points wins. Over at the Item Shop for Fortnite, you can get your hands on the Ikora Rey’s Ghost Back Bling, the Ophicuchus. The Back Bling comes by default with the Ikora Rey outfit. As for weapons, you can obtain the Black Talon Pickaxe from the Item Shop as well. The Sparrow Glider comes with the Ikora Shader Style fit for Ikora Rey. From the Titan class, players will be able to purchase a skin of the vanguard commander, Zavala. If you’re itching for some new back bling, then you can get your hands on the Targe Back Bling. If you want to fully suit up, you can pair it with the Crown-Splitter Pickaxe. You can also get a custom Sparrow glider which comes free for the Zavala Shader Style fit. For Elisbeth Bray, also known as the Exo Stranger, players can get the Pouka Back Bling which comes pre-equipped the legendary exo.If you want to complete the look, you can opt for the Lament Pickaxe. The Sparrow glider this time features an Exo Stranger theme and comes pre-equipped with the Exo Stranger Style fit. Sadly, Fortnite will only get one emote this time around. Players can obtain the Investigate Emote which appears to scan for information. Although Fortnite got a lot of Destiny 2 content, it’s sad to say that Destiny 2 might not get any Fortnite themed skins or missions. Though it might ruin Destiny 2’s theme if there were any quests or side-missions involving the goofy and light-hearted battle royale game. The Destiny themed Fortnite skins will be available today on August 23, 2022, as soon as the Item Shop resets. The Fortnite and Destiny 2 crossover was leaked a few days ago, and fans got an early glimpse of all three character skins for Destiny 2, but the Destiny skins designed for Fortnite were still a mystery until today. Many additional details in regards to Destiny 2: Lightfall and Season of Plunder were revealed to fans early on as well. Another news that was also rumoured but never really announced was the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout crossover for Destiny 2. The platformer is also set to get some skins based on Destiny 2’s Warlock, Titan and Hunter armour sets. Sadly, Destiny 2 won’t be getting any Fall Guys skins, which could be pretty strange if you ask us. This has been one of the biggest collaborations. Destiny 2 has seen the first of two franchises creating content with each other in a crossover. It was last year that Bungie made items based on its own history. We got weapons and armour from the Marathon, Myth and the Halo franchise. However, partnering up with studios outside of Bungie and Guardians is considered to be uncharted territory. But with Sony’s acquisition of the two companies, it seems this won’t be the last crossover that we’ll be seeing. We’re excited to see what other collaborations will happen in regards to Fortnite and Destiny 2. For now, Fortnite is hosting the Dragon Ball Super Event in which players can fly around the map, use abilities like the Kamehameha wave, equip awesome Back Bling and Dragon Ball themed items and play as either Goku, Bulma, Vegeta or Beerus. Players also wish upon the Dragon balls in a power up quest. In addition, players could participate in a Tournament of Power where they’d get one time Dragon Ball themed items. The Event also features memorable locations like the Kame House as a separate visitable island in Battle Royale mode where players can interact with Bulma and exchange items with her. There’s also a Dragon Ball Island which features many memorable locations like Goku’s house and the World Martial Arts Tournament Stage. Players can also sit back and watch a six episode run of Dragon Ball Super on a cruise ship if that’s what they like. Although the Dragon Ball Super Collaboration Event for Fortnite is in full swing, we’re also expected to get an upcoming collab with the hit rapper Eminem. Icon Radio, the in-game radio for Fortnite featured some of his music for at least 52 minutes with eight of his hit songs featuring numerous artists, which hinted at this collaboration. And that’s pretty much it for today’s news. We upload daily on Appuals, so stay tuned for more. Till then, see you later and goodbye!
