The PlayStation VR2 will retail for $549.99 (or €599.99 / £529.99 / ¥74,980), with the whole package including the PS VR2 headset, along with a pair of Sense controllers, and also stereo headphones. While the PS VR2 Sense controllers can be charged though the PS5’s USB port, Sony will also sell a standalone controller charging station for $49.99 (or €49.99 / £39.99 / ¥5,480). The first PSVR actually launched way back in 2016, and for just $400. Compared to that, the upcoming PS VR2 retails at a way pricier $550. But that’s not the whole story, while the PS VR2 retails for significantly higher, it also comes with the new Sense controllers in the box which were missing in the first PS VR. Apart from that, the PS VR2 should be leaps and bounds ahead of the first PS VR, with its significantly sharper display, inside-out tracking, and six onboard IR cameras. Taking all this into account, the PS VR2 pricing feels fair, and also in line with comparable VR headsets on the market like the HTC Vive. As for availability, the PS VR2 will be available for pre-orders for players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. Players in these regions can place their pre-order through Sony’s official online store, here. As for official launch, players will get their hands on the PS VR2 on February 22, 2023. Additionally, with enhanced headset-based controller tracking and high fidelity visuals in 4000 x 2040 HDR video format (2000 x 2040 per eye), PS VR2 adds a true next-gen gaming experience for players to enjoy. – PlayStation Blog That’s not all, Sony also announced a whole host of games to complement the upcoming PS VR2.
