Meet the Ryzen 7 7700
Hardware leaker, momomo_us pointed towards a possible 7700 SKU. From the tweet, we know that this SKU is equipped with 8 cores, leading to a 16 thread configuration and a 65W base TDP. Using the base 1.35x multiplier for the PPT, the 7700 has a Max PPT (Package Power Tracking) of 88W. This is considerably lower than either company’s present offerings.

Where Does the 7700 Stand?
The Ryzen 7 7700 will not directly outclass the 7700X, however, price-to-performance may be the goal here. Currently, the i5-13600K trades blows with even the 7700X in select scenarios while costing much less. The Ryzen 7 7700, if priced correctly can take a significant cut of the market share from Intel. Although, for a much more visible impact team red may need to reduce the prices of other SKUs as well in the Ryzen 7000 lineup. The low 65W TDP should not be taken lightly. From a few testing results, Zen4 scales incredibly well at lower power consumptions. Although, both Intel and AMD chose to overclock their CPUs by a huge margin for minimal gains. We do not know if this CPU is aimed at Intel’s upcoming budget non-K/F offerings. However, based on the current market position, we expect AMD to unveil this SKU as soon as possible.
